Lost in Space Mountain

HEY HEY HEY!!!

We are BACK! The trip was AMAZING, but I'm not gonna post everything because it would be like 3 pages long! Or more! So this is the best thing...

I spent my Disneyland time with Megan (the trumpet player) and Amy (the violinist), and we decided to go to Space Mountain as the last thing before we saw Fantasmic and then left Disneyland forever (or for awhile, anyway). So...we waited in line for 45, finally got on the ride and were super excited, and then as we're pulling up that first tunnel and we emerge into the starlit room, there's this announcement "Please remain in your seats. Your ride will resume in a moment."

Our ride had never stopped. We were going through this roller coaster, everything dark, half expecting we were going to crash into the train before us (because it sounded like everyone else was stopped), and suddenly, we stop. We sit there in the dark for like 3 minutes, until suddenly, THE LIGHTS TURN ON!!! We saw Space Mountain! For real! Everybody got their cameras out (I didn't have one, but Megan will send me her pictures), and we were all like "This is so cool!" and we heard them talking over the intercom, releasing each train one by one, and we are the last train to be released, so we get to see about half the ride in the light.

Then, we get to the end, and they're like "Do you want to go again?" and we're like "OH, yeah!" So we got to do it again! Space Mountain is the coolest! It was a fitting climax.

I think when I went to disneyland was one of the first days they opened the modified space mountain. if i remember correctly, it was all dark and just a lot of bright lights. you have to post the pictures so i can see how they did it!

Question... why did you go in the first place? Obviously it's not a regular vacation b/c Megan and Amy went with you. What gives?

I don't know when Amanda will get around to explaining, so I will give as much information as I have.

The full band/orchestra were able to raise enough money to go to Vegas to see Phantom of the Opera and go to Disneyland. They left on Wednesday and apparently came back on Sunday. I know that there is a whole lot more about it, but I don't know it all.

Yeah, orchestra trip. The orchestra raised money for themselves, but they had extra space on the bus, and it was less expensive to split that cost with more people, so they invited the full orchestra people too. I know I told Erika and the Syracusians this. Maybe it was just in passing...

I went to the modified Space Mountain too, but I didn't like it. Not nearly as cool as the stars.

Yeah, Phantom was awesome too.
