First Day of Junior Year: Great or Horrific?

Sooooooo???? How was it?

AP Calc won't be too bad with the lab tomorrow (we already have homework).
Our chemistry honors teacher is pretty cool, she'll be fun.
Seminary! Not too shabby replacements. I've got Bro. Too-Peppy-and-Smiley-For-His-Age John.
I'm really excited for AP American, mostly because Mrs. Mortensen seems really fun, I mean she collects hub caps and hangs them next to her desk! And has little toy cowboys and Indians fighting each other on top of the white board. How cool is that?

I don't think tomorrow will be as great though...I have to be with normal people for art and choir *cringe*

Extra! Extra!

Hey, guys! Have you seen the September New Era? Look in it! If you're from Syracuse, you'll find it cool! If you're not, you might anyway. But whatever...

Allergy Test!!

EEK! So I just had 21 needles poked into me yesterday (not very fun, trust me) and I found out that I had a reaction to 3 things. I still have to do a self test to see how they affect me, so it isn't as bad as it sounds. The three things are: *drum rolllllllll*
Wheat
Yeast
Oats
The lady that stuck all the needles in me (also known as an allergy specialist, but that makes her sound justified.) said that she had never had someone who was allergic to oats, and she's been doing this for a while. Not even my mom is allergic to them! :)
Yeast was my worst (but again, still not an extreme reaction). Which is "not good" (Keilee, Shannah) because yeast is in EVERYTHING!!! I will give you a portion of the list they gave me.

Obviously no breads, cake/cake mixes, canned box biscuits, cookies, crackers, hamburger buns, milk fortified with vitamins (which is all milk unless I go out and milk a cow), pastries, pretzels, rolls, buttermilk, sour cream, all fruit juices unless I hand juice it, soy sauce, anything with vinegar like katchup, salad dressing, tomato sauce, mayo, olives, pickles, chili and peppers, nothing malted, no root beer, a whole bunch of vitamin pills (not that I ate those anyway...)

thats just part. *sigh* but yeah. I'm not going to completely cut everything out. Just eat them in great moderation.

HEBER VALLEY CAMP!

OMGSH! Girls Camp at Heber Valley Camp was amazing! It was so beautiful and fun, especially the challenge course and zip line! It would have been better if it wasn't stake camp, or at least we could be in cabins with our ward.

I was a YCL (Youth Camp Leader) over the 4th years, who were the outcasts. Our cabins were a long ways away from the rest of the stake. We had to hike up this long hill just to get to the amphitheater. I now had legs of steel. But, in a way it was worth it, because our cabins were round with carpet and a skylight, unlike the rest of the stake who had rectangular, cold, cement floors-Haha.

It was great until Thursday night, when it poured! I was soaked and had sit for hours on a hard, freezing cold cement floor in a pavillion, where the wind was blowing through. There wasn't any relief to my shivering...I didn't have a blanket, no dry clothes, nothing. And I had to go to the bathroom, but I was too cold to move. I swear I was gonna get hyperthermia and die, until one girl I think did end up going to the hospital for it. Yet, they still went going on with the testimonies... you think they'd have us go change. Nope. I don't think many people were listening by the end, especially because so many people had left to be dry and warm.

There's so much more to say, but it would take forever.

Customize

If you look at the backgrounds and stuff, and they're all crazy, don't worry. I'm just experimenting with how to do this. I'm bored. And it's fun.

Hillary's Great Fish Story, (as told by Me!)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! I am on the floor in tears laughing! I am surprised that Dave would even tell it.

Did you know that I love to fish? Kinda goes hand in hand with the whole Camping/Hiking love.
So I brought my dad's fishing pole and all his gear and hoping to catch a fish. I even Woke up at 5:30 in the morning two days in a row! Finally Thursday night I was all geared up to go and they told me I couldn't go. I had REALLY wanted to eat trout that night. So, currently in a state of PMS, my eyes start to well up and they hastily say "Ok, we can go." It was my bishop and Dave, excuse me Bro. Cook. I think they just couldn't stand to see me cry. Hee Hee.
We got there and I caught a fish within like 5 minutes. End of story.................................................

At least that is what I told everyone when I got back. But Heidi and I were laughing so hard we finally gave it away. The real story was...

I was still having no luck when a Dad and his daughter come walking by and they are holding this 14 inch fish. They stopped and said "Do you guys want this fish? We usually don't keep them, but this one started to bleed." We all looked at each other and I thought, Hmm I really want to eat a fish tonight, but what if I catch one, then I'll have two? Then I thought, Aw to heck with it and I scrambled up the hill to them and said "I do!"

We continued to fish when Dave said "Ok, what are we going to tell everyone. We have to get our story straight." I thought about it for a sec and then said
"Hey hey bishop? Can you throw this fish at me?" I handed him the fish and then backed up a good distance, he threw it to me, and i caught it! Tee Hee!
Then my bishop made me gut it, (yuk!) Dave even got pictures.
We had an extremely elaborate cover. I caught the fish. I used power bait (we found power bait in it's stomach. I used power bait to fish) i used a pole (not to catch the fish, but if they assume, well, its bad to assume, right?) i gutted the fish.

If it wasn't for me looking at Heidi and bursting out laughing, it would have worked! Dave says I have an awful poker face.

When I get pictures, I'll post them, K?

Hillary + fish?

So, this weekend I was up at Bear Lake with my dad's side of the family. Friday night I was in the bathroom when I heard my uncle Dave tell everyone about their ward's girls camp and something about Hillary and fishing. I came out too late to hear it...but apparently it was a funny story because everyone was laughing.

Dave wouldn't tell me about it after I said Hillary and I were best buds, he only told me to ask you, Hillary, about you catching a fish? It sounds like a good story, so do tell!

Amazing books that I'm reading right now

The starred in purple, Shannah would like(so basically every book ;).
Starred in orange, it is just an all around everyone read book
Starred in blue, haven't read yet but super stoked for them

  • Counting Stars by Michelle Paige Holmes [LDS romance :)]*
  • The Princess and the Hound by Mette Ivie Harrison**
  • The Chosen One (about polygamy) by Carol Lynch Williams**
  • Don't Judge a Girl By Her Cover by Ally Carter**
  • Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen (3 books) by Garth Nix**
  • Unwind (crazy awesome sci-fi) by Neal Shusterman**
  • The Actor and the Housewife by Shannon Hale**
  • The Siege of Macindaw (6th book) by John Flanagan**

Shannah's First Date (of which I witnessed) Yesterday!

For those of you who didn't hear the story before...

Stephen Richardson asked our very own Shannah out on a date (everybody say awwwwwww! cuuuute!). Which breaks rule #1: don't ask people out that are in your own ward!

Since we had to do a group thing, I tagged along while dragging my brother, Jarron, behind. Jarron's friend, Austin Evertson, came too, to keep Jarron company. Britney (Shan's sister) was supposed to come with me, but she couldn't :(

We walked over to the movie theater, which made us late, but we got to "Aliens in the Attic" just in time (it was a so-so movie). Gracie Nay and her date, Joey Something-Or-Other-Junior Class President-Guy met us there with his friends.

Stephen was, of course, his chivalorous self. But in my opinion, he was trying too hard, so it became awkward. A lot.

We went to Baskin Robbins afterward. Stephen attempted to compliment Shannah on her smile randomly, but she couldn't hear him, which made it worse. We were looking at the menu and he turns around and says to Shan, "You have a very beautiful smile that knocks the breathe out of me everytime I see it, so will you marry me?" Then he kneels down right in the middle of the resturant and pulls out a ring pop. It was so cute!

Just kidding. That's not entirely what he said, but it did sound like he was trying too hard.

I don't have time to post more, so ask Shan.

Overall, it was a pretty first date, as far as Stephen goes.

Music

Hey, guys!

I added a playlist down under Hillary's there...I'll delete it after a while...it only has three songs on it: the quintessential "my music."

Broadway-Into the Fire from the Scarlet Pimpernel (My favorite song ever)

Disney-Fantasmic! (Which just plain rules)

Jazz-Take Five (OK, I don't listen to jazz a ton)(It's funner to play)

Aly, you have to listen to all three. You can add two more to my list. I HAVE listened to Once Upon a Broken Heart. Oh, and you only have to listen to the first minute and twenty seconds of Take Five. (It starts soloing around 1:05)
