Holiday Cheer

Does it seem wrong to you guys that none of us has posted for almost a month? I kind of thought so...

What do you guys want to do for Christmas/New Year's/Whatever? Yen and Aly, when are you guys getting back? We should plan something...not that I'm sure anyone will see this...seeing as nobody appears to have looked at it in a month...

Oh, well! Merry Christmas, everybody!

Piano Again!

So do you guys remember last December when I had that piano concert, but most of you couldn't make it? Well, I'm having another one on Saturday, Dec. 12th at 2:15 pm at the Layton Library (you know, the one by LHS and the park). If you guys can make it, that'd be great! It's only like 1/2 hour long since I can't memorize that much :). Hope to see you there?

New Moon!!

I know some of you blog readers and contributors don't like the Twilight series, but if you watch the new movie, you must admit it is awesome. At the very least, you should go see Taylor Lautner topless.
The most hilarious part is when Edward is walking across the parking lot and the wind is just right, and his jacket gets blown back around him.... ROFL!!! What a cheeseball!!!

GO TEAM JACOB!!!!!

5 Things I Learned About Ambulances Today

1. You know how in the movies, the husband/wife/parent/karate mentor always rides in the back with the person who is gushing blood from some vital organ? Huh-uh. Apparently they don't let you do that. AND, apparently you don't even have to be gushing blood from a vital organ to merit a ride in one!
2. They buckle you in with so many little strappy seatbelt things that it feels like they are putting you in a strait jacket to take you to the loony bin. Slightly unpleasant.
3. People stare at you a lot when you are on a stretcher surrounded by four burly paramedics.
4. They keep warm blankets in there, which feel nice in cold Utah weather.
5. The paramedics complain about their ex-wives a lot.

English Quest (n' Stuff)

Hey! How many of youins are doing English Quest? Might we see you there? I signed up today for Poetry Writing, Movie Trailer, and Poetry Slam (in that order), and Aly signed up for...something...Movie Trailer, and the Spelling Bee. Let me know what that was...I forgot.

You know something kinda funny? Last year we had so many that this year, they gave us a limit! We can only send 50...and now that it's not required for all the honor's sophomores, I don't think we even have that many yet...though we've only had the one meeting...

Just wondering!

(P.S. The "n stuff" part was a tribute to Mr. Reed)

Help!

Okay guys, we need to figure out this party. I think we are planning on friday to meet at the corn maze (time?) and then come to my house after we are done there. I am gonna need help figuring out the food, so if you want to bring something just tell me and we can work it all out. I am thinking maybe we can roast hot dogs and marshmallows in my fire pit and people can bring salads, desserts, chips, and drinks. Just everyone bring something to share. And bring games if you want, or anything fun we can do as a group. If you want, I can plan some stuff to do but I was just thinking we would hang out and sit around the fire and maybe play games and stuff like that. Sound good? Any suggestions are welcome! I also need to know who's coming for sure so we can count on how much food to get.

Mmmm...Cookies

Hey, so Shannah and I (and Aly???) want to go on the uber combined band/orchestra/choir trip in March. So help us! With cookies! And churros, soft pretzels, and funnel cake. Mmmm...

Cookies are either $13 or $15 for 2.7 pounds of pure DELICIOUS. Think on these:

Chocolate Chunk
Peanut Butter
Oatmeal Raisin
Sugar Cookie
Snickerdoodle
M&Ms
White Chocolate Macadamia
Triple Chocolate
Walnut Chocolate Chunk
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup
Heath Bar

With the aforementioned churros, soft pretzels, and funnel cakes. ($15 for boxes of 12, 12 and 10, respectively)

So will you help us?

Swine Flu - Yuck!

So, I've been sick for the past two days and my mom thinks it is probably swine flu. I hat it. I feel like I've been run over by a truck or something. It's kucky.

The Hunger Games

Sorry! I know I've been posting a ton lately! But this is cool! I promise.

So, I was randomly searching the Web and found something about the movie of the Hunger Games (hey, good news! Suzanne Collins is the screenwriter, so it probably won't be horrible!). Anyway, so I searched on YouTube for random things about the Hunger Games movie (I don't know what I was looking for...) Anyway, so I found this series of videos of "The Hunger Games Cast," because everybody wants to put their opinions in...

Anyway, this was by far my favorite!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSOYDJ9ErUs

It was funny, because EVERY SINGLE ONE I saw had Kristen Chenoweth as Effie. Also, quite a few had Taylor Lautner as Gale. Not who I would pick, but whatever! This one has Johnny Depp as Haymitch, and one had Orlando Bloom as Cinna, but I wouldn't put such big stars in relatively minor roles. idk...maybe...

UGH!!!

Our strangely skilled football team is going to the playoffs. (We beat Clearfield 53-7...how did that happen?) We have pep band on either the 30th or the 31st. We don't know which, and it could be any time of day. I HATE PEP BAND. And the football team. But mostly PEP BAND.

Bad band day today, as you may have noticed. Aly, where were you?!?

Halloween Party

Okay, here's the plan. Halloween party at my house on the friday before Halloween (Oct. 30th). People want to do a corn maze but not a haunted one, so I'm thinking we should meet at the corn maze (Black Island Farms--the one in Syracuse??) and then come back to my house and play games and do party stuff. Sound good? If we want to carve pumpkins but people are afraid it will drag out and take too long, we can do smaller ones if you want. Will that work Amanda? Or we can paint them... comment with your ideas on what you want to do. If anyone has any other suggestions, please post them!! I don't know about the time yet, I don't know if we want to do the corn maze before it turns dark so we don't have to do the haunted one. Let me know! And also let me know if you have and requests of snacks/food. Do you guys want to do pizza or just snacks or both or what? I have a fire pit in my backyard so we could even roast hotdogs and marshmallows if that sounds fun. Once we have it all figured out I might ask you guys to bring something to share if that's okay. This is gonna be so much fun!! :)

Halloween!

OK, so I know Halloween is more than a month away...

WHO CARES?!?!? Mr. Berrong went trick-or-treating in May! I can plan a Halloween party in September!

I want to do it either Halloween or the day before. Depending on whether or not we want to go trick-or-treating. Which was Yen's suggestion. What do you guys want to do?

My house is an option. Who else thinks they could do it?

Friday, September 18, 2009

DUDE. Muchas gracias.

Midnight Romeo is like my new IT song. I am listening to it ALL THE TIME. Granted, I'll most likely hate it tomorrow, but thanks, Hillary!

Angst

OK, I officially hate Fablehaven! (The series, not the book itself) I guess I'll put my stuff in comments so if anybody hasn't read it, it isn't given away.

P.S. I would like to thank Hillary for her generous sharing of Catching Fire. I need to go buy it now...

P.P.S. I like the new background! Who changed it?

Band Geeks

I just realized something. I was on the computer, Tyler in the other room, listening to the Mozart CD he got for his birthday. Suddenly, the music jumps about 4 dynamic levels and is bursting my eardrums. I yell: "TYLER! TURN THAT DOWN!" Tyler responds: "But that would be defying the crescendo!" I go back to the computer. I wait for about a minute, and realize just how weird that is. That was a completely viable reason. He didn't turn it down, and I didn't argue.

Anyway, just thought I'd share my band geekiness. For kicks. And possibly giggles.

My new fav song!

Ok, so I heard part of this amazing song on a commercial for Grey's Anatomy, which is weird because I rarely even go near the TV lately. I looked it up and instantly fell in love with it. :)

Anyway, it's called "Sink or Swim" by Tyrone Wells. It's not on playlist.com so I just go on YouTube to listen to it. I am totally hooked and keep listening to it over and over.

You don't have to listen to it, I'm just suggesting it. And it's more on the rock side for those who are more classical or country fans.

Sorry Hillary, but Firefiles by Owl City has been bumped down a step. <3

First Day of Junior Year: Great or Horrific?

Sooooooo???? How was it?

AP Calc won't be too bad with the lab tomorrow (we already have homework).
Our chemistry honors teacher is pretty cool, she'll be fun.
Seminary! Not too shabby replacements. I've got Bro. Too-Peppy-and-Smiley-For-His-Age John.
I'm really excited for AP American, mostly because Mrs. Mortensen seems really fun, I mean she collects hub caps and hangs them next to her desk! And has little toy cowboys and Indians fighting each other on top of the white board. How cool is that?

I don't think tomorrow will be as great though...I have to be with normal people for art and choir *cringe*

Friday, August 21, 2009

Extra! Extra!

Hey, guys! Have you seen the September New Era? Look in it! If you're from Syracuse, you'll find it cool! If you're not, you might anyway. But whatever...

Allergy Test!!

EEK! So I just had 21 needles poked into me yesterday (not very fun, trust me) and I found out that I had a reaction to 3 things. I still have to do a self test to see how they affect me, so it isn't as bad as it sounds. The three things are: *drum rolllllllll*
Wheat
Yeast
Oats
The lady that stuck all the needles in me (also known as an allergy specialist, but that makes her sound justified.) said that she had never had someone who was allergic to oats, and she's been doing this for a while. Not even my mom is allergic to them! :)
Yeast was my worst (but again, still not an extreme reaction). Which is "not good" (Keilee, Shannah) because yeast is in EVERYTHING!!! I will give you a portion of the list they gave me.

Obviously no breads, cake/cake mixes, canned box biscuits, cookies, crackers, hamburger buns, milk fortified with vitamins (which is all milk unless I go out and milk a cow), pastries, pretzels, rolls, buttermilk, sour cream, all fruit juices unless I hand juice it, soy sauce, anything with vinegar like katchup, salad dressing, tomato sauce, mayo, olives, pickles, chili and peppers, nothing malted, no root beer, a whole bunch of vitamin pills (not that I ate those anyway...)

thats just part. *sigh* but yeah. I'm not going to completely cut everything out. Just eat them in great moderation.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

My Schedule. Finally.

1. AP Calc Ab- Bateman
2. Chemistry honors- Gunty
3. Seminary
4. AP Am History- Mortensen
5. Calc lab
6. English 11 Honors- Reed
7. Art 2- Bradbury
8. Choir Level 1- Cazier
Advisory- Fritz

Locker# 1068: a bottom one again, where all the people are in the main hall...grrrr

It's not too bad. Nothing's messed up, so I'm content.

HEBER VALLEY CAMP!

OMGSH! Girls Camp at Heber Valley Camp was amazing! It was so beautiful and fun, especially the challenge course and zip line! It would have been better if it wasn't stake camp, or at least we could be in cabins with our ward.

I was a YCL (Youth Camp Leader) over the 4th years, who were the outcasts. Our cabins were a long ways away from the rest of the stake. We had to hike up this long hill just to get to the amphitheater. I now had legs of steel. But, in a way it was worth it, because our cabins were round with carpet and a skylight, unlike the rest of the stake who had rectangular, cold, cement floors-Haha.

It was great until Thursday night, when it poured! I was soaked and had sit for hours on a hard, freezing cold cement floor in a pavillion, where the wind was blowing through. There wasn't any relief to my shivering...I didn't have a blanket, no dry clothes, nothing. And I had to go to the bathroom, but I was too cold to move. I swear I was gonna get hyperthermia and die, until one girl I think did end up going to the hospital for it. Yet, they still went going on with the testimonies... you think they'd have us go change. Nope. I don't think many people were listening by the end, especially because so many people had left to be dry and warm.

There's so much more to say, but it would take forever.

Customize

If you look at the backgrounds and stuff, and they're all crazy, don't worry. I'm just experimenting with how to do this. I'm bored. And it's fun.

Hillary's Great Fish Story, (as told by Me!)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! I am on the floor in tears laughing! I am surprised that Dave would even tell it.

Did you know that I love to fish? Kinda goes hand in hand with the whole Camping/Hiking love.
So I brought my dad's fishing pole and all his gear and hoping to catch a fish. I even Woke up at 5:30 in the morning two days in a row! Finally Thursday night I was all geared up to go and they told me I couldn't go. I had REALLY wanted to eat trout that night. So, currently in a state of PMS, my eyes start to well up and they hastily say "Ok, we can go." It was my bishop and Dave, excuse me Bro. Cook. I think they just couldn't stand to see me cry. Hee Hee.
We got there and I caught a fish within like 5 minutes. End of story.................................................

At least that is what I told everyone when I got back. But Heidi and I were laughing so hard we finally gave it away. The real story was...

I was still having no luck when a Dad and his daughter come walking by and they are holding this 14 inch fish. They stopped and said "Do you guys want this fish? We usually don't keep them, but this one started to bleed." We all looked at each other and I thought, Hmm I really want to eat a fish tonight, but what if I catch one, then I'll have two? Then I thought, Aw to heck with it and I scrambled up the hill to them and said "I do!"

We continued to fish when Dave said "Ok, what are we going to tell everyone. We have to get our story straight." I thought about it for a sec and then said
"Hey hey bishop? Can you throw this fish at me?" I handed him the fish and then backed up a good distance, he threw it to me, and i caught it! Tee Hee!
Then my bishop made me gut it, (yuk!) Dave even got pictures.
We had an extremely elaborate cover. I caught the fish. I used power bait (we found power bait in it's stomach. I used power bait to fish) i used a pole (not to catch the fish, but if they assume, well, its bad to assume, right?) i gutted the fish.

If it wasn't for me looking at Heidi and bursting out laughing, it would have worked! Dave says I have an awful poker face.

When I get pictures, I'll post them, K?

Hillary + fish?

So, this weekend I was up at Bear Lake with my dad's side of the family. Friday night I was in the bathroom when I heard my uncle Dave tell everyone about their ward's girls camp and something about Hillary and fishing. I came out too late to hear it...but apparently it was a funny story because everyone was laughing.

Dave wouldn't tell me about it after I said Hillary and I were best buds, he only told me to ask you, Hillary, about you catching a fish? It sounds like a good story, so do tell!

Amazing books that I'm reading right now

The starred in purple, Shannah would like(so basically every book ;).
Starred in orange, it is just an all around everyone read book
Starred in blue, haven't read yet but super stoked for them

  • Counting Stars by Michelle Paige Holmes [LDS romance :)]*
  • The Princess and the Hound by Mette Ivie Harrison**
  • The Chosen One (about polygamy) by Carol Lynch Williams**
  • Don't Judge a Girl By Her Cover by Ally Carter**
  • Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen (3 books) by Garth Nix**
  • Unwind (crazy awesome sci-fi) by Neal Shusterman**
  • The Actor and the Housewife by Shannon Hale**
  • The Siege of Macindaw (6th book) by John Flanagan**

Shannah's First Date (of which I witnessed) Yesterday!

For those of you who didn't hear the story before...

Stephen Richardson asked our very own Shannah out on a date (everybody say awwwwwww! cuuuute!). Which breaks rule #1: don't ask people out that are in your own ward!

Since we had to do a group thing, I tagged along while dragging my brother, Jarron, behind. Jarron's friend, Austin Evertson, came too, to keep Jarron company. Britney (Shan's sister) was supposed to come with me, but she couldn't :(

We walked over to the movie theater, which made us late, but we got to "Aliens in the Attic" just in time (it was a so-so movie). Gracie Nay and her date, Joey Something-Or-Other-Junior Class President-Guy met us there with his friends.

Stephen was, of course, his chivalorous self. But in my opinion, he was trying too hard, so it became awkward. A lot.

We went to Baskin Robbins afterward. Stephen attempted to compliment Shannah on her smile randomly, but she couldn't hear him, which made it worse. We were looking at the menu and he turns around and says to Shan, "You have a very beautiful smile that knocks the breathe out of me everytime I see it, so will you marry me?" Then he kneels down right in the middle of the resturant and pulls out a ring pop. It was so cute!

Just kidding. That's not entirely what he said, but it did sound like he was trying too hard.

I don't have time to post more, so ask Shan.

Overall, it was a pretty first date, as far as Stephen goes.

Music

Hey, guys!

I added a playlist down under Hillary's there...I'll delete it after a while...it only has three songs on it: the quintessential "my music."

Broadway-Into the Fire from the Scarlet Pimpernel (My favorite song ever)

Disney-Fantasmic! (Which just plain rules)

Jazz-Take Five (OK, I don't listen to jazz a ton)(It's funner to play)

Aly, you have to listen to all three. You can add two more to my list. I HAVE listened to Once Upon a Broken Heart. Oh, and you only have to listen to the first minute and twenty seconds of Take Five. (It starts soloing around 1:05)

Aly's Recipe Corner (haha, the juxtaposition of "Aly" and "recipe" is funny)

MIDNIGHT SNACK BROWNIE

No, this is not a classy recipe. Nope, it doesn't resemble gourmet in any way, shape or form. But it you wake up in the wee hours of the night craving this scrumptious offspring of cake and pudding, this single-serving sure does hit the spot!

Mix 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, 1-2 tbsp cocoa powder (depending on your chocolateyness preferences) and a generous pinch of baking powder in a cereal bowl, hot chocolate mug, spare vase, etc. Use a fork to mix and get rid of any lumps. Add a tbsp melted butter and 2 tbsp of milk. Fold in gently (the less stirring you can manage, the better). Nuke in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes (this depends on if you are a gooey-chocolate-mess kinda gal, or a my-brownie-is-thoroughly-cooked-thank-you-very-much type person. Personally, I belong in the first category). Voila!

P.S.- Depending on how you guys like this, I might post some more recipes that I've messed with to suit my whims every once in a while. Let me know!

Highlights from Girl's Camp (w/ Amanda and Aly)(and Baylee)

*My dad came down Thursday. The first thing they did was sit him down and do his hair. They had those tiny neon bands...and my dad's hair is kind of long...His description was: "It looks like a have a ton of paintbrushes sticking out of my head."

*Baylee came up with a new insult: "Sausageface" Shortly thereafter, Sausage became (simultaneously, mind you) a term of endearment, an expression of disbelief, an exclamation of disgust, and a popular nickname.

*Carly (a.k.a. Carl's Jr.) and me (a.k.a. Da) came up with nicknames for everybody. Literally. They were way super random too. Like Aly was Lyx, but Alexis was Luke. Baylee was Leelee. We had a lot of those...Beebee, Deedee, Kyky, Linlin, Mimi, Kiki...it was weird!

*Our stake leaders rule. For the end of our Friday devotional, Sister Gift (stake YW pres) got up and goes: "Hmm...this won't do." Then, (I can't write this, it'd be like Ahahahah ahahahahah ahahahahahahah) she does the Enchanted thing. Where Giselle calls out to her animal friends...she sings, ya know. And then all the stake leaders get up and go ahahahahah (etc.) back, and they go: "Come my little friends, and we'll all sing a happy little good-bye song!" (instead of working) I have to tell you. THAT was hilarious.

Aly, was there anything else particularly good that I missed?

EFY

So, I've been at EFY all week. Yay!
What's been going on? Here is some of my experience:

*We weren't allowed to high-five each other or link arms (because of Swine Flu). Yet we still had a dance. -.-?

*We were introducing each other on the first day and I apparently befriended and converted Bigfoot. That was exciting.

*I learned a new game: Ninja Destruction. Best game EVER!!!

P.S. Aly I need to contact you for YCL stuff. TALK TO ME!

PARTAY!!!!

OK, amigos, here's the deal: party. My house. July 1. Potluck/Picnic style.

Each person bring something good to share with a bunch of people (I am not sure the amount of people attending yet). We will look at all my pics and we will tell stories and eat in the backyard. :)
Beginning at about 11 am, continuing until approximately everyone gets bored/has to leave, the only requirement being everyone must be gone before dark lol.

I'M BAAACK!!!!

Europe was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!

I am thinking we need a party to see all the photos and videos I took (about 450 ish) (I think).  There is way too much to tell to put it into one post or even more... I'm sorry.  Just comment on what you would like to know about, and I will respond!  Last time I put a long story on here, no body read it, so I won't do it again.  But I will tell you a few small details:

*The Eiffel Tower sparkles at nighttime for five minutes on the hour.
*Italian men have rightly earned their reputation for being gorgeous.
*Crepes are especially tasty with strawberry jam and whipped cream.
*Croissants are good, but not for breakfast everyday.  It becomes so you never want another croissant, at least not for a very long time.
*The Colloseum really is as big and wonderous as everyone says.
*So is Versailles.
*I really, really want to go back.

For Aly and Hillary

You guys have totally rubbed off on me. (Not that that's a bad thing ^_^)

I was getting some more driving hours today (8 hours 25 minutes to go!), and we were trying to get night hours, so we started while the sun was going down, and we get to this open place just past the main part of Roy, and the sun is shining off the mountains and making everything slightly rosy. My first thought: That light is so amazing. I wish I had a camera. My second thought: Why aren't Aly and Hillary here?

Thursday, June 11, 2009

For Misty

I LoVe The Script! I've been listening to them practically nonstop. So much awesomeness. But I don't have your email address so I can't email you those dido songs. I tried to get it out of Aly, but she won't respond to my text... Can you text it to me?

Heh heh heh

Sorry, guys. I post way too much. My excuse: I have no one to talk to at home.

Anyway, so I have all the books you guys told me last time on hold (or I've finished them). This list includes The Hunger Games (done), And Then There Were None (done), The Book Thief (done), Gone (on hold), and The Land of Elyon books (on hold). Give me some more!

P.S. If you guys want to see my reviews of these books, let me know. They're fun to write! Particularly the controversial ones...

P.P.S. I've gotten so many books on hold over the Internet that I've memorized my library barcode. Is that pathetic?

End o' School!

HEY! It's (almost) the end of the school year!!! This is one party we really HAVE to do. The others were just fun, but not having an end-of-school celebration is just wrong. :)

Also, we have to make sure EVERYBODY can come.

Throw ideas out! Let's plan something!

Happy 1st Birthday!

I know this is kinda... I dunno I can't think of the word, but my dad rolled his eyes at me. Today is Bella's 1st birthday!!

We got her new dog bowls, a new toy and for a cake we got her some soft yummy dog food that she scarfed down in less than five minutes flat. This coming from the dog who separates the dark from the light dog food and will only eat the dark ones.

I feel like such a proud mama! She wouldn't open her presents, though. Not even when we hid treats in the wrapping paper! Silly doggie. :D

Long time no see!!

Hey, what's up guys? This is Maddie!! My parents are finally letting me be a contributor for the blog, so I can comment and post now! So I was thinking, we should do something for the end of the school year next friday! I was thinking we should all go to Cherry Hill, but that's just one idea. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Phew!

I finally got it over with. I got my license! yay!

On the way there my dad made me drive. I was doing good for it only being my second time on the freeway until we almost got smashed by a small semi. literally. He was changing into our lane and I was paralyzed so I didn't change over and then it started to rain and I couldn't see. My mom's car has automatic wipers, but unfortunately I was driving my Dad's car. I was freaking out and my dad was trying to find the wiper button for me and the semi was honking and finally my dad said "change lanes!" I changed without even looking back, luckily no one was in the way. It turned out that the Semi had another car on his other side about to go off the road cause he couldn't merge. It was all very traumatic. I still got my license though! I was surprised my dad let me.

HUNGER COMES OUT TOMOROW!!!!!

Saturday, May 23, 2009

He's OK!!!!!

Stacie, the 9-year-old's mother, called my mom today and told her all this. She said that Saturday afternoon, the doctor came in and started preping them for the worst. See, the doctors put him into induced coma. It would keep him stabalized. They were going to wake him up and the doctor said that he could die, just never wake up, or even be paralized. He also said that he wouldn't actually wake up for at least another 4-6 hours. He woke up half and hour later. The doctors were so amazed and not ready that they put him back under.

Later, they tried to get him to respond. They talked to him and told him to nod if he could hear them, he nodded. They then told him to make a fist, he could squeeze his fingers. They then asked him to wiggle his toes, he could. So he was awake and not paralyzed. (spelling?)

This is a miracle, it is more than we could have ever asked. Thanks for all your help. There is still alot to go through, he is going into rehab on Monday. But we are so excited. Don't stop whatever your doing, because it is working!!!

Please Pray

Hey guys. If you haven't heard about the 9-year-old that was accidentally hit by his 12-year-old brother who was on an ATV. The 12-year-old was pushing the brake and slipped and push the gas and ran the 9-year-old's head and chest. Here's the story.

http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=6538036

Yea . . . so . . . I know the family, like, personally. We go sledding every year together. The 9-year-old is the cutest little boy in the world. He is like a little brother to me.

Right now he is in induced coma. They will know this weekend if he is going to wake up. The doctors say that most likely his will have permanent brain damage. I know this because his dad called my dad and mom and told them. He also said that all they need right now is love and prayers.

So even if you aren't religous, please keep him in your thoughts.

AP Test

EVERYBODY CHEER!!!!!!

The AP test is done and it's been 48 hours so we can talk about it! How do you think you did? Which essay questions did you answer?

I think I passed, but I'm not sure how well I passed. I knew for sure most of the questions I answered, and I skipped 22 of them. The DBQ went okay, but I kinda rambled and my last point of view was really vague, so I'm not sure if they'll get it. I answered #3 and #6, and I totally faked my way through 3 but really knew what I was talking about on 6. Last of all, I really hope they don't throw my test score out, because I was walking away from the room with Amanda S. and Megan talking about it(when we weren't supposed to talk about it), and I realized that the school has security cameras everywhere and I was talking kinda loud. 'Course, I was super hyper so I'm not sure I would have thought of it at the time. I hope they didn't junk my test for that!

WOOT!!!!

OK guys.
I sent out an email pertaining to my SWEET sixteen birthday party, so check your emails soon!!!! and reply, of course!

My braces are for positive coming off on the Second of May.  And I am possibly for positive getting my license on my SWEET sixteenth birthday!!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I'm so excited, I almost don't know what to do with myself.
The only sad news I have is that I am not going to prom after all, because my boyfriend had already bought tickets to the Eagles concert taking place on the same night.

*Random Side Note* I also found a new band that I have absolutely fallen in love with: The Script.  They sing The Man Who Can't Be Moved and many others.  How do I put my playlist on here so that most of you can hear their awesomeness and Irish accents?

10 inches of My Hair is Going to Florida!

Yes, as of Friday the 10th of April in the afternoon my youngest sister (the blondie Heather) and I donated 10 inches of our hair to Locks of Love.

It feels so good! I miss my long gorgeous hair, but it's nice to not have it everywhere annoying me at once. Hopefully I'll get it layered soon because the straight bob isn't doing it for me.

Just wanted to warn everyone so that the next time I am seen, it won't scare anyone.

Puzzle

So, for Girl's Camp, Aly and I are doing this thing about famous women who represented the values, and ours is Knowledge. So, I don't want to dress up, and Aly doesn't want to talk. I came up with a solution! Aly will dress up as someone mute. I will then narrate.

So I found this one lady, Sophia Fowler Gallaudet. Does anyone in French know how to pronounce that? Also, any other ideas on people? (I've already been told Helen Keller about 7 times)

AWW!

i LOOOOOVE the new background! and the motto is flippin' awesome!

Random conversation with my nephew Cody

Cody:"what are you doing?"
Me:"painting my nails"
Cody:" why is it called 'painting'"
Me:" i don't know, someone just called it that"
Cody:"oh"
*a few empty seconds*
Cody:" I think it was someone named John Smith who called it that"

oh the imagination of a 4 year old.

Continuation of Lunch Argument

OK, so I finished The Hunger Games. Let me start with WOW. That was intense.

To continue our lunch argument, I'm going to have to stick with my original opinion. GALE!!! He's cooler than Peeta. If you would like to see my entire argument, I'm going to write it up in like 5 minutes and then I will email it to you or something. I'll bring it to school, too, probably.

Everybody cheer for Gale!

Lacking

I know this is sad, but I am totally out of books to read. I NEED IDEAS. I mean, I could always go with classics, but I've been so burned out lately that I need something easy...or at least easy-ish. I was looking over my term reading for English, and it's horrible. I can think of one book I've read in the past three weeks...

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

YAY!!!!

OK guys. A lot has happened in the last little while, and I am sorry I haven't updated you all. I feel horrible.

First of all: I passed both my driving test (-7) and my written test (98%) for my driver's license!! Now, I only need to wait until I'm sixteen. Bleh.

Second of all: I am going to Prom!! Prom is two days after my birthday, and it is quite very probable that I will be getting my braces off one week before then!! It is all working out so perfectly :).

There may be more, but if there is I can't remember it, so I'm sorry and I will put it on here as soon as I remember.

I'm sorry I haven't kept up with you guys on this stuff, especially because that is the whole point of this blog.
Please find it in your wonderful, deep, caring hearts to forgive me.

Indescribably Angry at the District

Grrrrr! My brother told me today what Champi has revealed about the involuntary transfers to Legacy Jr.

Apparently, MR. CARTER and Mr. Furch are leaving! I am SOOOOO mad! I was counting on Carter to help my brother whip into shape next year for high school. He needs Carter! We need Carter!

There's not much I can say about Furch, but I know Shannah isn't too happy.

I'll miss Carter, but what I'm worried about now is my brother not having him as an English teacher. What Carter has taught me has saved my butt so many times. Why? WHY!?! No one can even come close to filling Carter's place.

Lost in Space Mountain

HEY HEY HEY!!!

We are BACK! The trip was AMAZING, but I'm not gonna post everything because it would be like 3 pages long! Or more! So this is the best thing...

I spent my Disneyland time with Megan (the trumpet player) and Amy (the violinist), and we decided to go to Space Mountain as the last thing before we saw Fantasmic and then left Disneyland forever (or for awhile, anyway). So...we waited in line for 45, finally got on the ride and were super excited, and then as we're pulling up that first tunnel and we emerge into the starlit room, there's this announcement "Please remain in your seats. Your ride will resume in a moment."

Our ride had never stopped. We were going through this roller coaster, everything dark, half expecting we were going to crash into the train before us (because it sounded like everyone else was stopped), and suddenly, we stop. We sit there in the dark for like 3 minutes, until suddenly, THE LIGHTS TURN ON!!! We saw Space Mountain! For real! Everybody got their cameras out (I didn't have one, but Megan will send me her pictures), and we were all like "This is so cool!" and we heard them talking over the intercom, releasing each train one by one, and we are the last train to be released, so we get to see about half the ride in the light.

Then, we get to the end, and they're like "Do you want to go again?" and we're like "OH, yeah!" So we got to do it again! Space Mountain is the coolest! It was a fitting climax.

Valentines Catastrophe (No, people, it does not involve an apostrophe with fur)

So for Valentines Day, me 'n the Baylster made our parents dinner. We were planning on going to Bear LAke over the weekend, but were deterred by the insane anount of cars that were off the road...anyway, we made the dinner out of things we already had on hand, so it was spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, Jello, and cake! I know, I know...weird mix, eh?

We burnt everything but the Jello.

However, we salvaged the evening! How you may ask? Well:

The heartshaped cake was all perfect and full of golden heart shaped goodness when a certain someone put the cake on a burner that was left on...ok, ok, it was me! We hurry to get it off and rip the cake in three parts! So, Baylee makes another thin cake out of the leftover batter, we put it over the other cake (we cut the bottom off and glued the rest together with frosting), and frost it. We end up with a yummy layered cake!

I inevitably burn the meatballs while dealing with the cake drama. Bay and I cut the bottom off them, and we end up with pleasantly smoky flavored meatballs!

The garlic bread was left in a little too long while we were cutting off the bottoms of the meatballs, but they turned out deliciously crunchy!

Are you amazed? Yup, we were too!

Definitions

This is random.

1. lifetime warranty-when it breaks, its lifetime is over and the warranty is expired.
2. blood oath-don't break the oath, or I'll spill your blood (you can probably guess who came up with that one)
3. slumgullion-this is a real word! It's a type of meat stew.
4. catastrophe-"If the English language made any sense, a catastrophe would be an apostrophe with fur."-Doug Larson

WHAAAAAT?!?!?!?!

Hey, so Ty was talking to me after seminary and told me his best friend Kendall got a 35 on his ACT. I proceeded to say WHAAAAAAT?!?!?! (Hence the title) That's crazy! 35?!?! That's the first person I know who's gotten better than 32(Aly's dad)

Also, Shannah's/my birthdays are coming up. What do you say we do a combined party thingamajig (that way you don't have to buy presents. Isn't that convenient?) with all of us? Like the 21st or something? Right in the middle?

SNOW DAY-ish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At NUAMES the power was out so the school decided it would be a snow day, sorta.

We stayed for minimum day so we don't have to make it up,

but it's just past noon and I'm home.

The power came on during 7th, but they didn't change the schedule.

This is the first, and probably last, snow day i have ever experienced, It is just awesome!!!!!!!!!

P.S. These are some pictures I took for Digital Photo that i think look awesome.

I just couldn't resist.

sorry, I know. but I totally agree. somewhat. if only I could "x" all three!

Righting Wrong Writing

OK, there was this HILARIOUS(ly nerdy) article in the Reader's Digest. It was titled "Righting Wrong Writing: Heroically persnickety typo crusaders set the U.S. straight." Seriously! These people travel the country, "changing the world in [their] own humble way." Some of my favorites:

They were denied permission to fix "Washigton" in a supermarket, so they asked another employee who cheerfully said yes. "It was the classic When-Mom-Says-No-Ask-Dad move."

They jumped a barbed wire fence and run across cactus-covered scrubland to fix a sign advising tourists to bring their "camera's" "That was a big one. The apostrophe was about the size of my head."

They changed the electric signs in the checkout lines from "12 Items or Less" to "12 Items or Fewer."

In a National Park, they added a comma, changed womens' to women's and somehow ignored the urge to fix emense (which I assume was supposed to be immense). The National Park Service was upset. Apparently, the sign was done by a famous architect, and they were fined $3,035 and had to promise to stay out of of national parks for a year.

Yeah... ^_^

P.S. I read "Uglies" I liked it! It was weird, but good.

The Mysteriuos Red Button that I CANNOT push

What happens if I do press the button. it is Big and red and Mysterious,
that makes me want to press it Really Really really bad
Why can't i press it, what evil maniacal plan is behind this button?

Have you ever noticed that the four traits that will make a button irresistibly pushable are:
They are Red
They are Big
they are Mysterious
And Most importantly they say not to press it

This button has all four, how is it expected for me to resist the insistent urge to press it.

Why create the button if it is not to be pressed, I just don't get it
How many of you guys have pushed it? probably everybody

I have decided that I Will probably die if I don't so i am going to push it now...

Economy and AP Euro

Hey, for those of you who take AP Euro...have you ever stopped to consider how our situation is so similar to the circumstances in France right before the French revolution?

I mean, France had just been in a war to help us get our independence, and were in huge debt because of it. And their government just kind of ignored the debt...and the government still got a ton of money out of the national budget...and they were borrowing money from the French citizens, so when the government went bankrupt, the entire country went bankrupt.

Just a thought. A creepy thought.

The Hunger Games

I just barely finished "The Hunger Games," by Suzanne Collins and I just have a few things to say.

First, that was probably the worst ending I have ever read.

Second, when does the next book come out?

Third, I don't think I can wait that long. This is almost worse than waiting for "Breaking Dawn."

Fourth, OMYGOSH! That was nuts! It was way too intense. I am screaming inside my head.

I would also not recommend it to the easily upset stomach.

Oh Hillary, I was wondering if I could use my iTunes card, etc. at your house on Tuesday since there is no way my internet will be up for that.

Political Quotes That Aren't Mind-Numbing (a.k.a. mildly funny)

Usually the nonsense liberals spout is kind of cute, but in wartime their instinctive idiocy is life-threatening.
-Ann Coulter

When we were at peace, Democrats wanted to raise taxes. Now there's a war, so Democrats want to raise taxes. When there was a surplus, Democrats wanted to raise taxes. Now that there is a mild recession, Democrats want to raise taxes.

ugh!

ok, so I am gonna have to change the party back to tuesday. sorry.
my parents just told me that they were gonna run away that night for their aniversary. so yeah. it is back to tuesday, but we don't have to start so late. we could do it during the day instead of late at night. or we could just keep it the same.

Also yen, my mom says that she could pick you up/ take you home if it will make your mom any more willing to let you come. Sorry misty for changing this info.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

You are so uneducated in video games. I weep for you.

What does it sound like? Super-great. Smash Brothers-people who destroy things. Brawl-and fight amonst themselves. It's a four player (or I think you can do more if you connect things, but not so sure) game, and you pick various characters from various video games and you fight. With lots of buttons(hit, hit up, hit down, 4 special moves, jumps, grabs, shield, etc.). Actually, you can mostly just press buttons and win with it. That's what I used to do. ^_^

These are some characters: My FAVORITE OF ALL TIME: Link (in the green), Sonic the Hedgehog(blue), Mario (if you don't recognize him, you are truly sad), Kirby (pink and actually a He), Pit (that's cupid boy, but he's cool), Mr. Game and Watch (who is in fact 2-D), Pokemon Trainer(who some of you may know), Meta Knight(from Kirby's game, but instead of cute and bouncy, kind of deadly), and Ike(just overall awesome)

P.S. As you may have noticed, we once again have a ton of stuff on the sides. Can I please get rid of some of it? Like the growing flowers thing? And the penguin? And all the dumb pictures in the set at the bottom? And possibly the links to Aly's family's pages?

Update

ok.

it has been brought to my attention that it would be more convenient to have the party on the 16th (the friday that is the end of the semester). Maddie couldn't come otherwise, says Madeline. Is this Change of Plans still work for everyone? then we could stay later and not worry about school. (plus i will be doing last minute homework on tuesday, guaranteed :D )

AARRGGHH and List!

AAARRRGGGHHH!!! I can't see any of the pictures from the Peter Hoax!! I can't see any pictures at all!!! ARGH!

Second . . .
1. Everyone do a type of R.S.V.P on the comments.
2. Bring whatever food you can.
3. Bring whatever Wii stuff you can.
4. Can we please start at 5:00 and even then I'll be late. I have to teach piano from 4:30 to 5:00.
5. Aly needs to bring Super Smash Bros Brawl (what is this?)

Please tell if you can come; and if you can't, what time you can; what food you can bring; and what Wii stuff you can bring.

I think that sums it all up!

The Great Ask Peter Hoax as performed by Aly

I didn't know it was all Aly's fault when I took these pictures, and obviously no one else did either.
Just Look at that smile on Aly's face ;)

Madeline got pretty freaked out. Or maybe it was because I was taking her picture.

All of us huddled together over a tiny laptop screen.

Thanks Aly.

:D
